Mobile Deposit Tips

Use the tips below to make your BankIowa Mobile Deposit transaction simple and successful!

Before you deposit: 

Please endorse the back of the check as follows: 

For Mobile Deposit Only
(your signature or business endorsement stamp) 

For your own records, we also suggest you include "BankIowa, mm/dd/yy" in the endorsement area.

Payee name must match the name(s) on the account you are depositing to.

Make sure check is endorsed by all payees.

Ensure that your camera lens is clean. Pocket lint and dust can build up on camera lens which can degrade photo quality. 

As you deposit: 

Ensure that the surface contrasts with the color of the check. Place the check on a flat, dark-colored, well-lit, non-reflective surface. 

Make sure that you have ample lighting and avoid using the flash on your camera. If the camera is triggering the flash, then you need more light. Also, be careful of any shadows being cast on the check if using lighting from directly overhead. 

Ensure the top, bottom, and side edges of the check are visible in your camera preview window prior to taking the picture. 

After you deposit: 

Watch your email. If your check image is NOT accepted for deposit or if there will be a hold placed on the funds, we will send an email notice to you within one business day.

Check your account in Online or Mobile Banking at 1:00 am or later after normal business days to confirm that your deposit was processed and credited successfully. Deposits received before 4:00 pm on normal business days will be processed same-day. Deposits received after 4:00 pm or on non-business days will be processed the next business day.

Once deposited, keep your check in a secure area for at least 30 days. After 30 days, cross-cut shred or destroy the check in another secure manner.
