What You Need:

1. Medical Supplies

Moving large furniture or sharp objects during your move can sometimes lead to accidents. Be sure to keep essential medical supplies on hand, like band aids, ointment, and aspirin.

2. Snacks and Drinks

You will need alot of energy during your big move and supply your body with the nutrients it needs will result in a more efficient move.

3. Donation Box

Moving day also means getting rid or donating items you no longer use. Having a donation box on hand can make sorting items easier and save you time before and after the move.

4. Boxes and Packing Tape

These two items are key to moving items effectively from one place to another. To save money, ask friends, family, and coworkers if they have boxes they aren't using!

5. Toolkit

Things to include in your toolkit for moving day would be scissors/box cutter, screwdriver & hammer, flashlight, tape measure, and blankets. All these items will help unboxing, putting together, and moving your items much easier. 

6. Cleaning Supplies

Once movers, family, and friends have left, their will be quite the mess to clean up. Be sure to bring essential cleaning supplies like trash bags, all-purpose cleaner, paper towels and/or wash cloths, and vacuum.

7. Money

Your credit card should be available but may also need cash to tip your movers, pay road tolls, grab a meal, and so on. Your wallet shouldn't be empty for moving day.

Your cellphone will help you stay in contact with your movers and other helpers, will allow you to research some much needed information, to find maps, and call for help if a medical emergency occurs. 

9. Friends and Family

Moving with others will make to process much smoother and easier. Having your friends and family during the process can alleviate the stress of items being put in the wrong place, items getting stolen, etc.

10. Pet/Kid Items

To keep pets and kids out of the moving chaos and in a safe environment, be sure to bring toys/items that will keep them occupied. If possible, assign someone to watch over the kids during the process.
